I was curious about Louisville since it was top so I looked it up. Of the 35k new international immigrants since 2010, about 8k came from Cuba. I guess its pretty well known there:
Louisville even has circulating Cuban newspapers, the main one being Kentubano. The number is waaaaaay higher than 8,000. Some estimates I have seen are triple that. Cubans love Louisville.
There are at least two Cuban neighborhoods and dozens of Cuban businesses.
Louisville, as I have been saying, is the most underestimated city on this board.

8,000 is the number of new immigrants Louisville got from Cuba 2010 to 2019.
This isnt a semantic. Puerto Ricans are not classified as immigrants by the Census. They are viewed the same as those who might move to Philly from Chicago.
Yes, by law they aren't immigrants. I made an honest yet ignorant mistake. Laws aside, if you genuinely believe that someone moving from Guam to Chicago is the same as me moving to New Jersey, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

I've lived in a US territory. Is moving from Guam to Chicago the same as moving from PA to NJ? Not exactly, but it's very similar to moving from Maui to Chicago. Puerto Rico is probably the most different territory, since a large percentage of the population isn't fluent in English, whereas pretty much everyone under 50 speaks English in the other US territories. The biggest adjustment soemone from Guam would have to make, other than the weather, is going to Target to shop instead of going to Kmart (the world's largest Kmart sits in Guam, and is still very popular).

Dude, it’s no big deal. I’m just saying how the census views it not what it actually means.
