Hi all, I am a 25 M Asian looking to start my medical residency next year in one of these places. I'll be making 60k. Specifically I would be in either Marietta for the Atlanta metro or Las vegas proper.

Factors I am considering

- Asian community (specifically Chinese would be nice), food, shopping
- access to nature for day trips
- being relatively close to other cities for day trips or weekend trips
- safety
- overall vibe for young people
- dating
- weather

Thank you!

Vegas would be much better for you. I love the diversity in Vegas and wish I could move there right now.

Vegas, Atlanta is a boring, bible belt city.

Atlanta is a major international cosmopolitan city. I'm not religious at all matter fact I'm anti-organized religion and didn't find Atlanta overly religious at all. This is clearly an outdated stereotype of Atlanta. Especially considering how LGBQT friendly Atlanta is so yeah.

With that said, for what OP is looking for I'd go with Vegas.

I do think Atlanta wins when it comes to weather though.

It is anything but boring. Its a diverse, cosmopolitan city.

Had the OP said Korean and not Chinese, I would have said Atlanta. But as is, Vegas.

I’m surprised everyone is going with Vegas. I’m not saying they’re wrong, but Atlanta has a lot to offer as it’s a much larger city. And it’s not 115f in the summer.

If you were Japanese or Korean, I'd say Atlanta, but Chinese would probably be more Vegas (multiple reasons, but a big one is that Japanese and Korean car companies crisscross the entire region, so the Piedmont-y areas have a larger influence from those two countries all the way from Montgomery through Nashville to the Carolinas. The Gulf has more a Vietnamese influence. Oddly enough, the Mississippi Delta would probably have Chinese as the largest share as Chinese influence, but they're really quite American southern. Anywhere there's a decent research university in the South, there's a decent number of Chinese and Indians, but culturally, Indians seem to be having a bigger influence lately.).

Tough call. Atlanta is bigger with better weather.

But Vegas is more my jam
