I'm actually going to OCMD in September, and there's my answer. Looking forward to beach time, crab cakes and seeing the wild ponies as Assateague Island.
Since it's the Dog Days of Summer now, Fort Stevens. It's right next to Astoria too, which is a cool historic town, and there's more commercial beach resorts like Seaside, Cannon Beach, and Long Beach, WA nearby to extend the vacation.

Chatham, MA or Pigeon Forge, TN
Pigeon Forge. Love the Titanic museum and the proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains.

They both have big World War II ships that have been converted into museums, both of which are well worth a visit. But beyond that, Wilmington seems much more pleasant to me. The huge petrochemical plant along I-37 is a horrible introduction to Corpus Christi.

Juneau, AK or St. John, NB, Canada?
Ha, Oddly Enough I was just in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg last weekend, and we drove by the Titanic museum refered, but didn't go inside
St John New Brunswick Canada, Interesting history and more easily accessible. There are No Roads to Juneau Alaska, Only Boats/ferries or Airplanes, no time for that
Anchorage Alaska or Albuquerque New Mexico

Anchorage. Love the PNW but have never made it too Alaska. In New Mexico I'd have more interest in visiting Santa Fe than ABQ, ABQ seems more like a place to live than to visit.

Pittsburgh or Atlanta?
Pittsburgh. I've heard how underrated it is. Topeka KS or Springfield IL?

I'll go with Springfield. More to do, vs. Topeka.
The Johnny Cash boyhood home in Dyess, AR, or the Elvis boyhood home in Tupelo, MS?
