The city is definitely going to have 800-ish sadly.

Philly is only 26 short of it's year-end total.
This is embarrassing and I don't live in Chicago any longer.

How does this happen?

Why would any former resident of years ask as we should know many eras? Also if current knowledge of Memphis living there or near or former also? .

Crime link on Memphis from early Oct.

https://www.kait8.com/2021/10/14/mem...set-last-year/

Last year there were 232 homicides in the city of Memphis by Oct. 4.
This year, 238 in that same time frame.

Basically, acting surprised today when a Oklahoma City, or Houston to Atlanta even as also having record crime and Nationwide. No one should be surprised. Chicago Is a city of 2.7- mil. Memphis is one of 651,000.

Even if not in Memphis either anymore? The How is not one city to be shocked when stats come in. Sad for all as so many of our cities have increased similar %'s to more then a Chi %. None of us like it and politically a hot tamalli of blame games.

Just Memphis gets much less media demonizing for it by media.

Heyjackass even reports 753 homicides currently. They provide detailed information about each homicide like exact time and block or address so their numbers are probably accurate. If the current trend continues, Chicago will end up with around 850 homicides by the end of the year. It is such a troubled city.

Yes American city's look very troubled for decades of ups and downs. Do you get News at home in Germany on our USA troubled cities and crime? You can watch Chicago homicide newscast also as police videos get released.

The now gone high-rise ghetto Projects of Chicago also you had great interest I read. You posted a 1990s video on one last year I remember. You had great interest in its decline. Took like 20-yrs till they were removed with many delays. Lots of people did not wish to move. Sad really. I do not think Chicagoans reminisce on them. Guess plenty areas to make up for them. Some may on Chicago's legacy of Mafia and Ethnic European gangs. Al Capone still is known worldwide. Chicago still boomed that era.

Sad indeed the US government's high-rises for a Better Society had to fail so badly. There are youtube videos on when some were built and seen as something good. Many still stand in like NYC and man the need they have to repair backed up. 40-billion $$$.

I may visit Germany in the coming 2 yrs if I make a itinerary in retirement. Not sure on Germany yet. I have no German ancestry. Maybe you can help in the future.

You can post after New Year's. The Chicago, Flint, Detroit final tally. I think only Chicago has this heyjackass link you like.

Baltimore 295, on pace to come close to last year's total of 335, or a rate right around 60 per 100k.

So unfortunately if Baltimore had around the same population of NYC or Chicago,it would probably have damn near 3000k homicides . That’s 3rd world city number’s and totally unacceptable by the government.
