Murders in how CPD define them? We have another 10 days that make it likely for another 14 deaths.

In terms of homicides( involuntary and voluntary manslaughter+ interstate homicides that aren't counted by Chicago police), it already has with 812-832 depending on the source.

35 for Montreal (island population ~2,069,000) most homicides since 2012, not good.

Newport News is at 27 (14.9/100k) after a 20 y/o was shot inside a car in the East End. Highest total since 2016.

https://richmond.com/news/local/crim...a29512391.html

Richmond has hit 90 murders, the most since 2004...

Richmond's 90 murders aren't even in its top 15 highest homicide years, other cities are setting and breaking local records. Rich has roughly the same number of Homicides as places like Cincy (91) and Clt (94)...

Here's a question, does anyone know any geographic areas of cities that have a murder rate of 50+ or 100+? Richmond's East End is its smallest geographic region (~27,000) but numbered it's 27th homicide early this week, effectively giving it a rate of 100 per 100,000. Wildly violent ~4.8 mi²...

Rich doesn't have another side over 50 but North Rich is close, 17 murders this year for a rate of 48.57 (pop. ~35,000)...

West End Richmond (pop. ~56,000) has its pockets but is largely safe compared to the rest of the city. 9 murders, 16.07 rate...

South Richmond (pop. ~97,000) is by far the largest geographic area of town, and has had 33 murders for a rate of 34.02...
