Looks like Cleveland had four over the weekend and then there was one in nearby Garfield Heights that appears to be related to one of the incidents in Cleveland, a double homicide in Lee-Harvard.

So Cleveland is around 55 which is still ahead of last year's pace before things blew up and the city finished with 193. But that 55 number isn't that far off from usual at this time over the past decade. We'll see if its the near 1 per day pace like it was a year ago from this point forward.

Where it seems like there has been a huge uptick is in the inner suburbs where there may already be 25 or more. Usually the Cuyahoga suburbs in total account for about 40-50 a year, with some years 15 of those in East Cleveland alone.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cleveland, by rate per 100k, is third in Cuyahoga right now. Seems like there has been 4-5 in Maple Heights (23,000 so 17 to 21 per 100k) and probably 4-5 in East Cleveland (17,000 so 23 to 29 per 100k). East Cleveland is not unusual but i doubt there has ever been another suburb outside of EC that has had a higher rate than Cleveland, something Maple Heights may finish with considering at this point its basically just an extension of the Lee-Harvard neighborhood that has had some of, if not the most, number of murders in recent years.

What was Irvington high? And what was the total last year?

Right. Actually PPD should've updated 2020s number on their website. I remember a month or so ago a guy died of his injuries sustained in December, but the website still says 499, so guessing their not gonna change that. Dont know why. Regardless, the 2021 number is going to be well over 600.

Actually, as of today, there are 199 homicides in the city, equating to a 40% increase at this time over last year. That actually puts Philadelphia on track for exactly 700 homicides currently.
