In between the two communities(includes a church reference): https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8425...7i16384!8i8192

There were also blocks that were in the 13-19.99% range in that general area as well.

In terms of income, here is 2021 5 year census information for both of these communities, median income: https://data.census.gov/table?t=Blac...5Y2021.B19001B

The general area is served by the Harborfields or South Huntington SD's in Greenlawn and for Elwood, it is either the Elwood SD or a small portion in the South Huntington SD. Some people that attended schools in those districts, Elwood(John Glenn HS): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Von_Dudley

Greenlawn also has a little bit of a historical presence: https://abc7ny.com/sameul-ballton-gr...very/10797186/

So, you may also have an area like this one, that has a pretty high black resident presence and is split up between communities and/or school districts.

I know you are kidding, but it actually took place in the village of Amityville near the shore: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Works_...ville_haunting

Cool little thing in Western MA I just learned about from a Facebook Group.

New England Noir, New England's first Black Wine festival. With attendees and vendors from all 6 New England States. Began in 2022

https://www.thenewenglandnoir.com/

https://www.instagram.com/thenewenglandnoir/

30 Minute north of Springfield's McKnight Neighborhood and 50 minutes north of Hartford's North End. 1hr25min from New Haven, 1hr15 minutes from Worcester.

It sounds like this event in NYC: The SIP NYC | NYC's 1st Black owned Wine & Spirits marketing and events company

Here is a club in Philadelphia: https://www.blacoak.com/

I know all about the black Boston ski clubs, and their BHM excursions and MLK DAY excursions. Some of my private school and Jack and Jill friends went on them. I wasn't in that class bracket..but I had heard.

I knew of Double Diamond from my time at Trinity College

Area Served
The states of Connecticut and south central Massachusetts with members from the Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport and Springfield (MA) regions

Never heard of CT Soul Ski though.

I don't think NYC Sip thing is the same. That would be more in line with Litework Events in Boston. And events company, not a Wine Festival- there's a Carribean Wine and Music Festival in Maryland that is like New England Noir.

BlacOak in Philly is similar but you dont need to be a paid member to attend New England Noir whereas you do to attend BlacOak.

New England's event put a heavy emphasis on music and will have a music selection curated by Bryan-Michael Cox this year. Also, looks like it was started in 2021.

D*mn, the South Shore got soul now!

Note to self: whenever I manage to head to Fire Island again, make it a point to get off the Southern State Parkway or make an intermediate stop on the LIRR to Sayville and check out one of these places.

^If I can/could break away during that time of year, I would.

To Market, Amityville actually has a long history that goes back centuries: https://justice.tougaloo.edu/sundown...%20the%20shore.

I forgot to mention that this late actress of Good Times fame also grew up in North Amityville: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ja'Net_DuBois
