For those who are in their respective industries for a while. Level entry positions pay poorly in NYC and are hard to get. Also the job market isn't that good here in the NYC area. I don't know where your getting that from.

So yeah, a lot of people bunker in their parents home. But many will get roommates by the time they are 23-24.

Anecdotally South Carolina is getting a lot of middle-to-high income new residents recently. I'm considering a move there or Florida myself.
