They think of themselves as a public ivy? What?

Columbus for me though.

Technically, there's no such thing as a "Public Ivy," so the definition is somewhat subjective.

That said, there was a guide established in 2001 by Howard Greene and Matthew Greene of schools they considered to be Public Ivies and OSU was one.

Columbus for me though.
Some people consider Miami University of Ohio a public ivy. I put OSU over Miami any day.

I don't get the reliance on city populations for these discussions. They say nothing to the true populations of areas.

Some cities have hundreds of square miles and include large areas of what would be independent suburbs.

Some were landlocked a century ago and are like 50-100 square miles limiting their growth and making them a small portion of their metro.

Yeah, I'd agree with your post. Don't forget it also isn't too far from Indianapolis, Bloomington(IN), Nashville(IN), Columbus(IN, its architecture is pretty cool I have to say), to name examples. Also, Yellow Springs, OH(home of Antioch College) is an interesting small town, that I think people sometimes overlook.

San Antonio doesn't have as many things near it. Although at least it isn't too far from Austin, and Texas Hill Country(including Fredericksburg, and a bunch of other small towns in that area). I guess Corpus Christi(though slightly further away) might have a few interesting places, such as beaches in the Gulf coast near there? I'm sure SA probably is a nice city, and to visit, but to me for living I'd definitely pick Columbus over San Antonio. If this was Columbus vs. Austin, this'd be a closer debate for living in.

Idk about that. Columbus looks to be more centrally located to a variety of Rivers, Mountains, the great lakes... that are accessible in 6hrs

I have family in both cities, so I’ve spent time in both. I think people overlook Columbus a lot, it’s not a bad place. I’m not a Midwest person, so I’d pick San Antonio. Plus, I prefer warmer weather. Columbus is better for a more educated populace, though.

Your posts are such unobstructed windows (yet thinly veiled) into the realm of bias, pettiness and desperate need to put on airs for attention. Cheers!

"Public Ivy" is an irrelevant moniker.
