Of the three you've listed, Nashville is closest to Atlanta (not in size) in topography, lifestyle, natural beauty, demographics (Nashville is significantly less African American but more Middle Eastern by percentage). Houston is a booming place that may offer more opportunities to you (and your family is in Texas). Huntsville is much smaller than the other two. If you're into outdoors, then it may be for you. Huntsville is very close to both Atlanta and Nashville, where you can visit whenever you like.
Huntsville is only good if you want a small town feel compared to the other two. It's "fine", but it's certainly not as big which could be good or bad. Houston has tons to offer and is big enough that if you don't like part of it, move to a different part. Houston is comprised of 10 different Huntsvilles. Lots of big suburbs that offer both city and burb feels.
Nashville is a gem too though but honestly feels small if you're from Dallas or Houston.
You can't really say you love or hate Dallas or Houston if until you've lived there for a year at least. They're too big to explore and get a "feel" for. Most places I "visit" I have a blah view of because it just doesn't feel like home. But once I've lived there a while, my opinions change. You find more and you find what the cities have to offer.
I used to think Birmingham AL was the end all be all and there was NO reason to move anywhere else until I spent time other places for more than a few days.
So I would say Houston, Nashville, then a distant 3rd to Huntsville.
