I voted both for this one. They are both different but beautiful in their own ways. NC has the Blue Ridge, but NC has the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. For secondary city I'll have to say Tuscon > Raleigh.

Arizona may already be on its way to becoming THE main semiconductor manufacturing hub of the United States:

TSMC (Apple chips) - already locked down plans to invest in a 35 Billion dollar gigafab facility.

Intel - just announced plans to expand its already large presence in Arizona with a 20 Billion dollar expansion.

Samsung - is eyeballing Arizona for a 17 Billion dollar facility.

If Samsung lands in Arizona, this will make Arizona (Phoenix Metro - aka The Valley of the Sun) the real silicon valley.
These are on top of already established presence for Intel, NXP, ON Semiconductor, Microchip and Broadcom. Plus the electric autos: Lucid Motors is spooling up its factory. Nikola is building its plant.

And continuous stories such as this.
  • Why Moov Technologies’ HQ shift to Greater Phoenix was a natural step
  • San Francisco-based tech firm to open new office in Phoenix, hire 100
  • Align Technology, the designer and manufacturer of the Invisalign system, is moving its headquarters from San Jose, California to Tempe.
  • BlueOptima, a London-based firm that develops analytics tools for software developers, is expanding its Phoenix presence and making Phoenix its U.S. headquarters.
