I don’t know much about Tottenville, but Hegewisch is sort of an obscure neighborhood on the southeast side that feels very far removed from the city center. It honestly looks and feels more like Hammond, Indiana which it borders to the east. It’s very working class and primarily Polish and Mexican. You’ll definitely hear the Chicago accent when talking to the locals.

It's small size helps it be dense. The larger the area, the more people you have to cram in to achieve density.

Miami from W to E (at the far end of Dodge Island: Port of Miami) is about 10.7 miles
