Meanwhile up in Baltimore after a deadly June, July starts off relatively slow (not counting the July 4th weekend, which Baltimore is actually less deadly than DC) with only 3 homicides last week, total 189.
This includes the guy who was wielding a baseball bat swinging at those infamous squeegee boy only to be shot in downtown Baltimore. It's being treated as a homicide right now but it could arguably (although not really in Maryland law) be a self-defense case.
Otherwise people are still getting shot left and right in the city, but only 2 more died, one being domestic related and the other on Sunday that's not.

I think 9 in Carrolton Ridge alone last month. Baltimore is headed for 400 this year.

I count 10 in Carrollton Ridge for the entire 2022. Still insane consider that there are maybe 2500 people that lives in that neighborhood and it's something like 6 blocks by 6 blocks large...
For comparison Greater Park Heights area (i.e. Park Heights Ave from Coldspring to Northern Pkwy) has ~12 for the year, but that's a much larger area. Same for Brooklyn (The part within Baltimore City limit) + Curtis Bay (11 for the year if my counts are correct).
Milwaukee still having a terrible year: 118 through July 10, up 37% from same period in 2021.

So Milwaukee is up but Chicago is down. Wonder if the two are related since they are close distance.
