Some of these totals may be a little off due to lack of information,

MD will be issuing carry permits, so hopefully it'll deter crime. Less innocent people will be harmed at least.
Most of the homicides at least in Baltimore City are not exactly random, though...Out of the 200+ homicides so far this year there are maybe 10 that are things like robbery-related.
Plus easy access to guns haven't exactly help deter crimes in places like Jackson MS or NOLA...
This July has seen a significant improvement compared to the last two years. 61 is still too many, but a sign the violence is on the decline. Overall, murders are -15% and shootings -19% from 2021.
