It has been a rough summer with shootings / homicides.
Not lessening the problem, but Philadelphia is more like 40% less population. ~2.7M to ~1.6M.

Homicides in Baltimore is relatively slowing down, 4 last week bringing total to 246.

Lost track of injuries from shooting, though, which is like at least 2 daily.

My bet is <350 total for the year.

Post-pandemic recovery has been very strong. The only thing holding the city back is crime

Milwaukee looks to have been impacted the worst by the crime surge. It has a higher shooting/homicide rate than Baltimore and is 3rd below St Louis and New Orleans. 5 years ago they didn't crack the top 10 in either statistic.

Homicides and shootings might be down but robberies, break ins, transit crime, assaults, hate crime are way up it highest since 2007. The overall crime rate in NYC is up more than 20% compare to 2010.

And the reduction in shooting/murder has almost nothing to do with Adams...

100%. Awful problem, really is the only missing link for Philadelphia. But even so, it hasn't stopped the dizzying among of development spreading throughout the city.
