I've been in Dallas and Atlanta in the past month. I'd said Dallas was way more flashy and generally more impressive.

St. Louis may not be as aesthetically pleasing as San Deigo, but looking at the criteria it doesn't surprise me. There is a crapload of old money and it probably punches above it's weight in terms of art galleries, fine dining, casinos, private clubs, entertainment, etc. So it does not really surprise me at all.

I definitely think of SD before at Louis. The ocean lifestyle is glamour

I think people are confusing flashy and luxurious. For example Atlanta is a lot flashier than Houston but less luxurious.

Miami and Atlanta for the south. Atlanta is literally just a landlocked Miami when it comes to the nightlife for sure. Swap the most gorgeous Latina women for the Most gorgeous black women.

I know for sure Houston natives find Atlanta to be over the top with dressing. Talk to ppl from Houston all the time.

I will say between Dallas and Atlanta. It depends on what you are around. White culture in these cities might be more or less equal in glamour, but Atlanta’s black culture is much more glitzy and imposing on the glamour spectrum. So I give Atlanta the edge. Hard to beat glamour of Buckhead — even with the crime — Dallas isn’t even a hotbed for celebrity parties or anything.

Miami
Atlanta
Dallas
Houston

In that order for the south.

Last time I looked, San Francisco was hardly glamorous...same with St. Louis. And, Portland? Really?

I think in the case of San Francisco, like most cities, it just depends on the neighborhood. Nobody would call Tenderloin glamorous. But then you have neighborhoods like Presidio Heights, with gorgeous homes, views, beautiful people, etc. All in all, it's certainly not the most glitzy or "loud" or ostentatious.

Agreed on St Louis and Portland. Glamorous simply isn't a word to describe either.

I just can't ignore the "streets". I could never call a city glamourous with what I've seen. And yes, the other two make no sense at all.

Miami

I’ve lived in both Houston and Atlanta and have spent lots of time in Dallas. Atlanta is more flashy than Houston but not more glamorous. There’s a difference. Houston has more millionaires. Houston has more billionaires. Houston has the one of the fastest growing high net worth populations. Houston has a larger list of high end luxury shops. There are many high end shops with a presence in Houston that are not in Atlanta (far more than vise versa). There are more luxury car dealerships in Houston than Atlanta. You won’t find things like a Bugatti dealership in Atlanta. There are more high end restaurants in Houston than Atlanta too. There’s really a larger high end scene in Houston than Atlanta tbh. The things I’ve said about Houston apply to Dallas as well. Dallas is ahead of Atlanta when it comes to luxury offerings by far.

In terms of their glamor I’d rank them like this:
Miami
Dallas/Houston
Atlanta

In terms of their flashiness:
Miami
Dallas
Atlanta
Houston

I said this earlier and I think it’s very true. People in Dallas are generally flashier than here in Chicago yet Chicago is more glamorous and offers more in the high end scene.
