Which large cities have the most abrupt transition from downtown high rises to SFH's?

Arlington and Bethesda near DC by zoning transition from 20 story apartment buildings to SFHs within a block or two. Although nearly most Sunbelt cities have similar zoning.

Yo the east, yes. To the west it transitions a bit slower
Throw a dart at pretty much any post WWII boom sunbelt city not named LA and you'll find significant amounts of SFH within a mile of the city center.
