Wait, not much of either on Carson St.

If Broadway was full of bars for its entire length, then maybe it would come close. But, even most of Broadway closes down by 10pm or so. I don't even drink so I avoid E. Carson like the plague at night, but it's the longest unbroken stretch of bars in the country and is FULL of tens of thousands of people every single weekend. The AVE?! Come on.

Edit- Don't get me wrong. When I lived in Seattle, I loved the Ave. It's a great place to get cheap food from all over the world. It's way more like Oakland in Pittsburgh than Carson St., though.

Moderator cut: off-topic I don't recall Carson having that many bars for any size city let alone any city within the US. To say it's the longest unbroken stretch of bars is rediculous at best. You really need to get out more! The most in any city. That is utterly rediculous! Moderator cut: off-topic

Moderator cut: orphaned I'd find it pretty hard to believe there are many other cities with more then a 30 block bustling entertainment district.

I think you might be looking a little silly now.

The quote, "by some counts". Trust me I've lived in Pittsburgh it is not the longest street of bars in the country by any count. "By some counts", do you know what that means, its open to interpretation. Like maybe compared to Allentown, Reading, hicksville, etc. That's what "by some counts" means. There might be at best 10 to 15 bars on that street total. I hope your not counting waterworks. That is by no means the "most" bar filled street in America. It is apparent whoever wrote that article hasn't visited every big city, and you can tell this by their sneeky wording. They would need to just visit a city in their own state to know that was not true. Im guessing South St. in Philly has more bars than Carson street. But anyway, they aren't stating for sure that Carson street is the biggest concentration of bars. Look at their wording, "By some counts", I dont even know what that means. It certainly is not definitive. It sounds like it sounds, unsure. However, I am sure, seeing that I have been all over, and have lived in Pittsburgh. We'll use LA for example since I lived in Glendale before, any boulivard in Hollywood has many more bars. Hollywood Blvd alone would blow it away, make it look like a hick town. NY city has many long streets filled with bars. Moderator cut: see comment Why don't you tell everyone how Pittsburgh has the biggest downtown in America. How about the most movie theatres. Whats next? Trust me people Pittsburgh's Carson street DOES NOT have anywhere near the most bars on one street. Carson street might have fifteen bars but I am not even sure they have that many. I used to work in Allentown and lived in Bloomfield. I would drive down Carson street everyday. The few bars that are there are etiher run down dumpy bars or wannabe martini bars that serve lunch. Carson has a lot more than just 15 bars there dude. I could ramble off 15 big ones, and leave out all the small ones.

Lest anybody think that by my silence, I'm deferring to a poorly spelled post by Moderator cut: three words - substitute "another member" , I'd like to just say that I've seen the "longest stretch of bars" designation in several guide books and, having been all over the country, had no reason to not believe it.
