I would think the port as well as the TMC are much more important to the economy than NASA. I forgot the entire article. But I don't think NASA was mentioned. Nor should it.
Miami is more than just a place of night life and beaches. Miami is a financial capital of Latin America. Over 1000 multinational companies have their Latin American HQs in Miami. Miami is a huge port of entry both sea and air to Latin America also.
OP - This is an easy one for me to answer as I have a few relatives that live in Europe. And my mom just had this conversation a few weeks ago. Out of your list Miami wins, as they see Miami as this exotic place. The other places they probably couldn't even pin point where they are on a map. Maybe some of my cousins could, but not all my relative, but they all could tell you where Miami, LA and NYC are on a map. Dallas would probably come in second because the tv shows of the past.
Orlando? Orlando has Disney world but I bet you many people who travle there or have heard of Disney world do not even know what it the city near by is called. Most of Orlando's tourist are domestic anyway. Miami has many more international tourist than Orlando.
Miami is the capital of Latin America if that does not make it the winner of this poll I do not know what does Miami International Airport has the third most amount of international passengers in the country after NY JFK and LAX. Looks like most people agree looking at the results.
It depends on how you define International. I think foreign residents and international neighborhoods is a good measure.
By that measure it would be:
Miami -by far
Houston
Dallas
Atlanta
In that order.
In any case, Miami wins on every level of being the most international of the cities mentioned. Outside NYC and LA, theres no other place in the US more internationl that MIA.
