I cant say I was too pleased with Missouri style BBQ, and since I havent tried real KC bbq I cant really say much else for the midwest.
My personal favorite style of BBQ is North/South Carolina style. I hate the South Carolina style mustard sauce though, but the pepper/vinegar based BBQ has got to be my favorite.
My second pick would def be southwest style BBQ. Some years ago I ate at a spot in southern Arizona that was fantastic, I cant even remember the name of the place anymore.
People are voting for northeast bbq? Really? I've tried some places in NYC and one in Philly, but it didn't seem like there was some particularly good northeastern style. Anyone have recs? I've tried Dallas, Dinosaur, some truck in Brooklyn, Smoke Joint (by far the best), two Korean places midtown that I can't remember the names of, and Nancy Lee's Pig Heaven so far. I'm fond of tangy and slightly peppery sauces (sweet is alright, but Dinosaur way overdoes it).
Anyhow, does Korean BBQ qualify as southwest since there are so many of those joints there? I love that stuff.
Must we turn this positive thread into yet another South Bashing one
Gosh I was only playing lol... You guys cannot take a joke lol. I think that NE has the best BBQ though.
