I would say Evanston, Illinois or Clayton, Missouri. Although Bellevue, Washington has a very nice skyline. Schaumburg, Illinois has a bit of a skyline. White Plains, New York. Stamford, Connecticut.
If Uptown Houston counts as a suburban skyline, then its already in the top 3 for suburban skylines. What other "suburban skylines" have a 900 footer? After that, there is a drop off in height, but its tallest is just too impressive to overlook. Uptown isnt a suburban skyline, though, because its in the city. Neither is Buckhead, Westwood, or Century City.
However The Woodlands does qualify as a suburban skyline for Houston.
The Woodlands has a decent, but really nice skyline for a suburb, but there really isn't a "skyline" shot of it, because of its tall trees that block any building from a distance that't not taller 4-8 stories, depending on how tall the trees are from your vantage point. Hence, the name The Woodlands.
Buckhead isn't a suburb though. Its just another skyline within Atlanta. Id be like calling Lower manhattan a suburban skyline with Midtown being the urban one. So Bellevue is in the lead!
Nice to see this thread revived. Still think Bellevue, WA and Atlanta Buckhead are the leaders.
BTW, though a nice pic, the above shot of Houston is of downtown, not a suburb. (And, relatively unchanged since the late 80's).
Lots has changed, but nothing that has dramatically impacted the Downtown skyline from afar.
