The way the actual skyline complements one another is a toss-up. Chicago does have greater size, but it's not exactly beautiful.
Chicago has greater size? Of course!!!

Chicago 177 buidings at 400 ft or above
Atlanta 32 buildings at 400 ft or above

It is not exactly beatuiful?

LOL. Obviously others think differently! Have you seen the results of the poll

Listen. Obviously, Chicago has a better skyline than Atlanta. I would put the Atlanta skyline against any other in the U.S., minus New York and Chicago.

I commented on my subjective preferences. I don't think that Chicago's buildings, minus a few, are beautiful. Most are boxes.

Chicago. No question. Iconic buildings, denisity, and waterfront. Atlanta's three skylines are striking, but this is a silly question IMO.

ATL is great in its own right...

but, for now, the only skyline that can be compared with Chicago is NYC

unless Vegas gets Dubai'd

Chicago by far. Atlanta's skyline is nice, but not in the same league with Chicago.

Should rename thread to "Skyline Comparison" for the lack of competition.
