Although I voted for Tennessee, this poll is very painful in the fact you can't vote for multiple states(allowing people to choose up to 3-5 states would've been better). IMO, this would've been a much fairer way to do this poll.

My favorite states have to be Tennessee, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and Indiana(the last one I consider being an acquired taste to really like). Honorable mentions go to Michigan, Alabama, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Colorado(for the last one, I don't like the direction the state's newer state politicians and governors have been taking it away from the more libertarian ways it used to be like, otherwise I love it).

Rhode Island. Concise, short and to the point.

I have to go with home.. New Jersey

I love the density and convenience between everything from the beaches to the mountains and all the great diverse suburbs in between. Jersey City is also making a better name for itself, so that's going to help give off a better view of NJ.

I also love how NJ is sandwiched between two great American cities, NYC and Philly.

~~

New York, Maryland, and California follow.

I live in Illinois and outside of Chicagoland this state sucks. Michigan is my favorite state. Michigan has a bunch of nature activities, four seasons, and within a days drive from Chicago regardless of where you are in the state. I also really like Colorado.

I think it is a tie between California and Utah. I gave Utah a slight edge, because of its livability. Both are the most beautiful states, California has more to offer for more people, but Utah is incredible once discovered. I haven't had the privilege to live in Utah, but I would move to Utah in a heartbeat. As much as I love Chicago and Illinois. Illinois is one of the worst all-around states in America. There is Chicago in Illinois and that is it.

My favorite----------Idaho is one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful Western state and the quality of life is a major plus for this state. The extremely varied landscape is second to none, the citizens are among the kindest anywhere and the rivers and mountains are perfect.

My other favorites include Oregon and New Mexico.

California by a landslide. It's the state with the most varied terrain and climate. Where else can you go snowskiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon? It also has plenty of culture and diversity.

I'll have to go with Califonia despite the economic situation... It has everything: Mountain, beaches, megacities, natural beauty, the best tasting crops, weather to die for, and a silicon valley which is my inspiration as a techie... its really not fair because its so big... It is the golden state.

Since Cali is running this I propose a runner up.

Other than my home state of GA I would have to go with New Jersey. With the way people were talking about Jersey before I went there I was expecting to see piles of trash to the sky... instead I saw some of the greenest grass I have ever seen. It is one of the most naturally beautiful states I have seen I guess that's why they call it the garden state.
