what about Hayward? Havent seen much there I like...Also, not a huge fan of Pleasonton myself.

Hayward has it's nice areas same with Pleasanton, nothing to write home about though.

Berkeley would be my favorite after SF. Then in no particular order, Cupertino/Saratoga/Western Southbay cities including west San Jose, Palo Alto, Oakland.

I love the entire Bay, but my top choices outside of SF are (and I won't expect too many to feel me on some of these) Daly City, San Mateo, Burlingame, Redwood City, Fremont, Berkeley, Albany, Livermore, Half Moon Bay, Oakland and most of Sonoma County.
