I have a different take on this. I am a native New Yorker who didn't move here by choice. I have no problem with the native Floridians because it is there state not mine. I have a major problem with transplanted New Yorkers who live in Florida. They think because they are living here, they are superior to everyone else. I cannot count how many times they try to put me in the same boat as them. Sorry, major difference is that I didn't want to come here. YOU did. Speak for yourself and don't lump me in with you. This ain't my paradise and I don't pity the people from NY who don't live here. Actually, I eny them, NOT YOU.
The majority of NY tranplants are obnoxious. Otherwise they would still be where they came from.

Right, and none of the Cubans/other hispanics arent prejudiced towards the white American's ??? Riiiight.
Exactly...just go to the Miami Herald to read the dozens of comments, where Cubans tell Americans to "move to Atlanta", or that "Miami is a Cuban town now". No offense to the many normal Cubans out there, but many Cubans are beyond f**king racist towards everyone who isn't Cuban, black, white or even towards other Hispanic groups (Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans).
There are many really nice New Yorkers living in Florida. The problem is that the only ones that are noticed are the mean, arrogant, loud and irritating ones. These "New Youkas" seem to feel the need to mention that they are from New York in every paragraph spoken because they truly believe that someone will be impressed.
I've found that most of these loudmouths are very low on the New York socio-economic totem pole and when they move to Florida they try to act like they are "somebody" or they "know people" (referring to their imagined connections to "the mob")
The funniest thing is when New Yorkers refer to Cubans as Puerto Ricans because they are too dumb and/or lazy to known the difference.
