I've been to Tampa a few times. Not a whole lot to see. Much prefer Philadelphia with its history.

Beautiful. I agree, Tampa has a character all its own. Once people hear its in FL, they dismise that idea. And I dont see any trailer parks either.

You think that Tampa and Philly have the same nighlife?

I would rethink that comment

Tampa does have character.

That is if a person likes the small city with good beaches kind of place. Not everyone is obsessed with beaches

Also, something that noone has failed to realize is that Philly has the Jersey Shore, which is a quick 30 minute drive. And Atlantic City within driving distance.

I never said Tampa didn't have any character. I just like Philadelphia's better.

And you think nightlife in Philly is equal to Tampa? You might want to rethink that.

I've partied in both cities...neither stands out for nightlife. Both have a decent scene, but nothing to get very excited about. No need to rethink it.

There is a need to rethink that statement. Anyone that thinks Tampa's nightlife is on the level Philadelphia's is insane

I never even been to Tampa, but I just don't see Tampa having a more high quality night life and music scene. I don't believe anything I read on this forum. You could have somebody that parties in Tampa's most party hardy section, and then partied in a TFI Fridays by the King of Prussia mall, and come on here and say, "Tampa has a better nightlife by far!"

It seems no bit logical that a city the size of Tampa would have a better nightlife (clubs, music, neighborhood bars, etc) more than philly. The only thing better I could see it having is some good bars to sit on the beach.

Again, I never been there though. But if it was better than Philly, I am sure I would have heard about it.

Not even beach bars. The jersey shore is a quick half hour drive....... not to mention the atlantic city beach bars

The Jersey shore isn't something Philadelphia itself offers; the Jersey shore is just something within a short drive of Philadelphia. The Tampa beach bars are actually in Tampa.
