My town has pretty cool roads to drive on. The quality of road surface can be bad because in the winter there is snow, so the roads get torn up from snowplows. However, when it's summertime, it's great. Since we're in a very old part of the country we don't have a grid. Our roads are windy, hilly, and thin, which makes it much more fun to drive on when compared to a block-system. It's awesome to drive along the coast in a sports car. Winding roads, driving above rock cliffs with waves crashing along the shore.
The water culture around here is great too...obviously only in the summer though haha. Here's a couple pics of our harbor in the summer:
I'll admit I am not Florida's biggest fans but the road quality itself (lack of potholes things like that) are pretty good on the Gulf coast of FL with of course, tons of watercraft culture.
How do cities in Florida compare to Portland and Phoenix on the above mentioned parameters? I read that Lake Havasu has the world Championships for watercraft.
