We are being drawn into a war, whether we want it or not; and war involves hard choices. New Yorkers got a small taste of that back in 2001; the fantasy-merchants in Southern California have a few more lessons to learn, and nobody knows, as yet, if they will be hard lessons.
Hard to say with actually seeing the letter. If NYC officials are to be believed, it was a pretty generic letter that didn't seem legit. If this is true, then NYC is right and LA is wrong. Once you start responding to each and every random threat, pure chaos ensues.
It depends, since nothing happened NY had the right response, had one school been attacked the media would be all over the city that didn't.
Also, I saw on the news that when the threats were received, schools in NYC had already started while it was still 5AM in LA. From that standpoint I think both responses were appropriate.
The media is making such an issue out of this. Hello? San Bernardino like just happened, they need to cut SoCal some slack.
I also heard that the letter was written to seem like an ISIS/radical muslim threat, and that 'Allah' was misspelled..so it really could have been a kid who didn't study for his final.

There was a massive shooting that has just occurred in San Bernardino, CA. How can anyone believe the LAUSD superintendent overreacted after the occurrence of that recent massacre?
