The Atlantic City of the South (minus the boardwalk). Long, humid summers, in a bad position to receive a devastating hurricane impact (Katrina gave a pretty big blow), an important cash cow for a state that lags economically overall, beaches that aren't as pretty as those in AL/Florida.

Columbia, MD

Don't know much about the town personally. My niece is in the Army and stationed at nearby Ft. Mead. She's living in an apartment in Columbia and hates it. She says it's very expensive and people are distant/not particularly friendly.

I'm sure Boise is nice. When we lived in Idaho in the 70's it was mostly in the far north (Sand Point) and in Twin Falls where I went to college.

I like the scenery, and it’s away from many of Portland’s problems. But their homeless problem is unacceptable.

Dearborn has one of the biggest Muslim and Middle Eastern immigrant populations, in the whole US. It'd be cool to visit there someday, just to see some of the restaurants and bakeries there.

A somewhat artsy town and ski resort in the highlands of northern New Mexico. Seems like a great place to visit.

Had not heard of it but I like the hilly backdrop and the town looks nice enough. Reminds me of Forest Grove, OR.

I had a friend from back in the 80's who was from there. I really don't know anything about the city itself, but WV is a very beautiful state.

I have a friend now who's from there, he trash-talks the town and upstate NY constantly. Still seems like a cool place to visit, it supposedly has a lot of (Southeast Asian?) refugees settled there. Also, steamed hams.

Mesa, AZ

Massive, bland, and sprawling suburb of Phoenix. Having a population of half a million, if it were cloned and transported into every state, it would be the most populous city in more than half of them.

Hampton, Virginia
