You said "almost exclusively by non new yorkers." Do you understand what that means?

From what you're saying, these people must all be lying when they listed their place as NYC/Manhattan/etc. That's an interesting way to go about it. In that case then, I declare all the threads made by people who listed anywhere but NYC as their location to be bunk, because I know for a fact that they all live in NYC. CHECKMATE! There now, is that the logic we're working on?

Half the people you named were from new jersey? Nothing agaisnt jersey, i said n-e-w y-o-r-k-e-r-s

You type in new york in search and all the threads are from non new yorkers

Los Angeles vs Washington D.C. vs New York City: Higher Education
Chicago... more like a smaller New York? or a Bigger Boston?
The Chrysler Building vs the Hancock Center
Poll: L.A. vs NYC vs Chicago
Poll: New York City vs Los Angeles
LA Lifestyle vs NY LifeStyle?
Bay Area vs NYC in Higher Education
Philadelphia vs NYC
Match a NYC neighborhood with another cities neighborhood
Greatest influence on the U.S.A., New York City or Los Angeles?
New York: Center of the World?

I will chane it from almost exclusively, to a strong mostly. Which doesnt really change anything. CHECKMATE? checkmate on what? At the end of the day, when you use search most threads are from non new yorkers

It's the biggest most popular city in America.

I seriously think it shouldn't be shown as much in the City vs City thread because no other city can compare, honestly.

Oh, so I guess you didn't know what almost exclusively meant. That explains it.

New York Metro population: 18,800,000

United States population: 304,059,724

The vast majority of the people here don't live in anywhere near New York City, so no, it WOULDN'T make complete sense.

Should I continue?

I just saw many threads of NYC that is why I brought it up...
In that case you should make a thread about why everyone talks about LA, because alot of the threads you just mentioned include LA. Not just New York, by non-new yorkers. Maybe LA is just as popular and desiarable as New York, especially by non-Angelinos.

NYC is the art capital of the US
NYC is the food capital of the US
NYC is the cultural capital of the US

And in each of those things, NYC is either #1 or amongst the most influential around the world.

NYC (alpha ++), in absolute terms, is more influential than DC (beta +).
Culture is subjective. Like if you mean pop culture, I'll go with LA. But if you mean American history and all that, then I'll probably say DC or maybe Boston or maybe even Philly, but then they're is plenty of other history in the US from other countries, Spain, Mexico, France, if we're going by that history and culture then I'd say New Orleans, San Antonio, Saint Augustine.

Exactly what I meant.
