The police district with the highest murder rate was the 6th district at 143 homicides per 100k residents. Right behind that is the 7th district.

DC's 6th district:
Population: 65,042
Murders: 93
Rate: 143 per 100k

DC's 7th district:
Population: 95,365
Murders: 133
Rate: 139 per 100,000

Note: Murder numbers are from the year 1993

CAPTION: D.C. POLICE DISTRICTS BY THE NUMBERS POPULATION BY DISTRICT

The District of Columbia had a population of 606,900 in 1990. Below is a breakdown by police district.

1st District: 55,158

2nd District: 111,371

3rd District: 62,869

4th District: 125,104

5th District: 91,991

6th District: 65,042

7th District: 95,365

With that being said, the most dangerous police districts in Chicago are still slightly more dangerous than DC's.

Chicago's Wentworth district (1990)
Population: 65,834
Murders: 99
Rate: 150 per 100k

Chicago's Englewood district (2016)
Population: 58,277
Murders: 87
Rate: 149 per 100k

But what's unique about DC is all of their worst districts are on top of each other whereas in Chicago you can go through miles and miles of nice areas before you get to it's worst districts. DC doesn't have that, it's pretty much all bad except for 1 or 2 districts.
Maaan, you da real MVP!!
Nice info. So, percentage wise Chicago had (idk how it is now) way more nice areas than DC.
Still, though, there might be some area in Detroit or St.
Louis or somwhere else that was even worse. But we'll have to settle with Chicago's Wentworth district, I guess.

Well in 1993 which is the deadliest year on record for STL, the district with the highest murder rate was the 5th district at 169 homicides per 100k

Correction: The 5th district murders rose from 35 to 44 between 1993 and 1994.

And just to the south of the 6th District, in the city's 5th District, the number of homicides rose sharply - to 44 from 35.

https://www.questia.com/newspaper/1P...-louis-murders

STL's 5th district
Population: 25,934
Murders: 44
Rate: 169 per 100k

Not sure if this is the highest total this district had during the 90s but it's all I could find right now.

Also, in 2016 the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago had a higher murder rate than STL's 5th district.

Englewood (2016)
Population: 26,121
Murders: 50
Rate: 191 per 100k

I haven't researched Detroit districts for the 90s yet but give me some time and I will find Detroit numbers.

........................but nah good research! This what im trying to breakdown as well. All the bad areas were continuous across SW,SE,NE DC and doesnt show the numbers for the MD border as well with PG County. There was a significant amount of murders in PG County across the DC line that share a border that doesnt explain the whole picture.

Yes of course because it's a small city. If you have a problem with that then you should definitely have a problem with comparing big cities to small ones.

It states Bridgeport's all time high was in 92 with 63 homicides, pop 139,000. Thats rate of 48. Thats not even worthy of mention in this discussion.
