nobody said chicago was safe but data proves that it wasn't as dangerous as dc. you think there weren't areas in dc with about the same, possibly higher murder rate than englewood? trinidad is one of a few areas of dc that come to mind.

If Chicago had about 2,800 murders, I would say it was as dangerous as D.C. But, Chicago didn't even sniff 2,800 murders even though they had 3 million people. Maybe if Chicago had more hoods in their city, they would have had more murders. I don't see how this is even a competition. Everyone knows D.C. was the most dangerous city in the nation including the FBI and that is because D.C. had over 500 crews in the city at war with each other in a city of 61 sq. miles. Chicago didn't have that dynamic. In D.C., 10 streets next to each other would have a different crew on each street and they would kill each other. That is the reason DC's murder rate was so much higher than Chicago.

Chicago had to much conformity in their city which resulted in less murders. Their gangs were too big so they had less enemies. If Chicago had about 3,000 different crews/gangs with 10-100 members each, they would have had about 2,500-2,800 murders from so much drug territory over lapping but they didn't. D.C. with 61 sq. miles had over 500 FBI registered crews/gangs. That is how 600,000 people can kill 489 people.

Just to name a few crews in D.C.:

1-5 Mob, 1-7 Crew, 1st & O Crew, 1st & Seaton Place Crew
1st & T Street Crew, 3rd World, 5th & O Street Crew, 6th & S Street Crew
7th & I Street Crew, 7th & O Street Crew, 7th & S Street Crew, 7th & Taylor Crew
12th & Hamlin Street Crew, 13th Street Crew, 14th & Clifton Street Crew, 20th Street Crew
57th Street Mob, 58th Street Mob, 1512 Crew, 6200 Crew
Alabama Avenue Crew, Barry Farms Crew, Simple City Circle Crew, Simple City Ave Crew, Congress Park Crew
E Street Crew, Hobart Stars, Hucks Crew, La Mara R, G-Rod
Langston Crew, Levis Street Crew, Lincoln Heights Crew, Mellon Mob
Michigan Park Crew, Montana Avenue Crew, Naylor Road Crew, Park Morton Crew
Queen Street Crew, Rock Creek Church Crew, Rosedale Crew, Stanton Terrace Crew
Todd Place Crew, Woodland Boys, Lynch Mob, Gas Station, Choppa City, Sursum Cordas

But out of those 3 million only a third or less actually saw significant amount of murders and that's what I'm trying to say.

I'm not even gonna go there with the rest of your post because all you do is repeat the same thing without acknowledging any of the points crimetyme made, which were all very valid and correct. The point he was trying to make is that there is no way to know if dc had 2 million extra people that it would be better or worse. There is no way to tell that is why you can't treat crime stats with a calculator to say what would of happened. I mean a guy from the other side of the country has heard of the Chicago crime and projects. You saw 2 diffrent types of stats. Although the one were it has Tampa bay higher the dc, baltimore, and Chicago seems impossible, but even those put Chicago more violent then dc. Celtic you need to stop just only throwing murder stats up and nothing else. In which Chicago still is higher then dc anyways.

I'm responding to how you said dc was more violent currently. Which either means your blind or lying to yourself. Use google. Not only does Chicago have the #1 and #18 most dangerous neighborhood, which you can easily compare to dc and guess what? Chicago IS more dangerous. Cold. Hard. Data. You cannot dispute that. And in overall violent crime not only is dc lower then Chicago, it's lower then about 6 or 7 other major us cities. So I don't know why you are kidding yourself right now, because the fact is is that dc is NOTHING today as what it used to be. I mean dude just read the data it's that simple. Present day Chicago compared to dc is like comparing Somalia to downtown manhattan.

At least in the 90's argument it was worth debating, but present day Chicago vs DC is an absolute joke. Like literally, I'm laughing at the thought that you really believe that. Haha, good one. Time to give it up Celtic, you lose.

Well D.C. is Chocolate City and that normally comes with a lot of poverty. D.C. was over 80% black back then. Crack hit the black community hard.

Chicago doesn't have 500 different gangs. Chicago has a few different gangs like other cities around the country with hundreds and even thousands of members. Name the different Chicago gangs. It's not even close.

What does that have to do with anything?

It's not like all 25,000 or whatever latin king members can come after you with the snap of a finger.

They're all over the city in different sets with their own enemies in each area which causes just as much crime as if it where a bunch of little gangs running around... which there is also a lot of here.
