There's a Sault Ste Marie in California??

I think the OP meant to write Sault Ste Marie ON (Ontario) not CA (California).

CA was for Canada. I guess I should have just gone with Ontario, but I'm used to my normal people I spend time with who would have been like "ON? What does that mean? Like Cuba or something? "

Which should really just be Soo, MI because I-75 stops at the International Bridge and is not in Soo Canada. They are two totally different cities and not at all like each other, even though there is just a river that separates the two.

Maybe I should Google it when I'm bored but what the heck does "Sault Ste Marie" even mean? I think Ste is Saint? Yes? No?

It's French, so because Marie is feminine "Saint" becomes "Sainte" or Ste when abbreviated. Vive la différence!

I've seen a Saint Mary. That's feminine too and there is no E?

That's English where we don't have masculine/feminine words. But in French it is always Sainte Marie.
