Las Vegas by far...Orlando is more meant for families. Las Vegas...well, not as much, lol. It's a lot more exciting, even if I were a kid I would find it exciting there. The city is coming up with a lot of things for children/teens to do nowadays. The vibe you feel there is close to the vibe you feel here in NY. Orlando, I don't feel it at all.

Las Vegas is also MUCH prettier with the beautiful red-tinted mountains.

This is what I mean. I find the landscape of Las Vegas breathtaking and beautiful:

One more thing...Las Vegas gets the occasional snow, which makes it nicer

Also, just drive 20 minutes outside Las Vegas, and you'll feel like you're in the woods of Vermont somewhere on a mountain. This is one more reason why Las Vegas is great. You can have desert, then drive 20 minutes to this:

I think it's a lot prettier than this:

lol are you serious? las vegas is a cesspool. that place is awful, everything is artificial, in no way does it compare with new york city.
the heat is unbearable in the summer time u literally can't go out for like 5-6 months, unless ur going from one indoor area to another. u get no relief at night either its still like 99 degrees at 10pm. ur skin gets all messed up because of all the recirculated air and AC. like most ppl are saying, las vegas is nice to go for a few days... then get the hell out of there.

^^At least there's no dreadful humidity like Florida! I did just fine in Las Vegas in August, compared to when I've been to Orlando in April. I realized that Las Vegas' heat is too much for my everyday taste, so maybe one day we'll buy a vacation home there instead.

LV doesn't compare to NYC, I know, but mostly because it's obviously way different (I chose to remain in NYC and not move to Las Vegas). It's mostly the landscape that draws me for some reason. I can't explain it. I just think it's really pretty out there. Not to mention there's always something to do.

las vegas is dead during the day. it stinks like cigarette smoke. worse weather ever.
the only good thing about vegas is the cheap prices.. like that rio buffet where you can eat like a pig for around 20 dollars or cheaper ones for around 5$, and the resorts/casinos have brought a lot of great food to the hell hole.
its fun to go as a tourist and gamble, eat like a pregnant woman and shop.
my aunt lives there with her kids and since they can't gamble yet all they do is go to malls. ur pretty much screwed if ur a kid/teenager.

Nice photos. LV's natural beauty looks better then anywhere out east.

Both cities where created by tourist attractions, neither would be populated if gambling and theme parks did not proceed the boom. Las Vegas is a ten times better vacation. I lived in Orlando it was a pitiful dump. Still waiting for an answer as to why anyone would ever live in a Florida city that doesn't have a beach???

Again, I love both! I live and go to school in Orlando. I think it has more livability overall. I think the nicer areas in Orlando outnumber those in Vegas. I think due to the dry, dusty climate there are some very ugly areas of Las Vegas but that is equivalent to the ugly swampy areas of Orlando where there are no sidewalks.

I definitely agree with others that Vegas has a better nightlife. It also has the swanky factor with the nice bars, lounges, restaurants and chic hotels. Orlando has a lot of nice hotels and resorts but they usually look like Grandma places that just have a nice pool and landscaping. Vegas also has the whole celebrity factor and has had several more shows and reality series filmed and centered on the area. It has much more of its own identity. A lot of people do not know the real Orlando, but just the areas south of the downtown area. They do not know that beautiful tree lined streets exist around downtown with lakeside mansions and quiet, livable neighborhoods.

I think once it is all said and done, Vegas gets old faster than Orlando and I would rather LIVE in Orlando, but I do enjoy Vegas quite a bit! In all this, I still voted for Orlando!
