Are you saying that in the triangle is more diverse geographically or demographically. Because I agree geographically, but not demographically at all.
Both. We have people from all nationalities represented here in the Triangle, by and large, all live in the same general areas.
My experience with DFW was that people were very segregated into their own areas. For example, South Dallas/Oakcliff or Harry Hines etc.....
Where did you live in Dallas? Oak Cliff is a very diverse place -- so is my area, East Dallas/Lakewood. Harry Hines is sort of a bad street but it's right next to the chic Design and Market District and on the other side is eclectic and hip Oak Lawn. Some of the best hotels in the world are a couple of blocks from Harry Hines. Even Harry Hines has good parts Brook Hollow Golf Club - Map & Directions

Just because it was segregated does not mean it's not there. I'm going to have to disagree with you saying that Raleigh is more diverse than Dallas. Dallas has a larger number of Asians, Europeans, Africans, and Hispanics than Raleigh. Yeah, they are segregated. But we aren't comparing that.
The Triangle consists of roughly one-million people, so it is significantly smaller than the Metroplex. But, it has a large Asian, Middle Eastern, Indian, Hispanic population. The vast majority are formally educated and the citizens are comfortable having them as neighbors. This may be the case with a few Dallas areas, but, like I mentioned, most "know their place".
BTW, a previous poster stated that DFW is diverse but segregated. HUH!
I know that Texans are a proud bunch and rush to defend themselves, but I am stating my experience. Not a knock on DFW.
Good night now.
Texas has better weather, a very nice diverse state (in the people and landscape). It also has larger cities. Austin is the city that closest resembles any in NC (scenery wise).
Both Austin and San Antonio share the Hill Country. San Antonio does happen to sit in three other terrains also, so differnt parts of the city have a different look to it.
Texas! No contest. We got mountians, hills, beaches, deserts, etc. I can't believe someone even mentioned NC is more diverse than TX!! The only states that can be compared to TX are CA,FL,and maybe OH.

It's Texas
Texas in a landslide, and no recount needed.
