The "trashy" example sounds like my old landlord in VA, rhetoric and all.

A "classy" example from VA would sound very different than what Smtchll posted. Try this, the Tidewater accent (but good luck finding younger speakers anymore). It's pretty commonly heard among older people in the Norfolk, VA area. Although I'm younger and among a generation which doesn't speak this way anymore, I do have some of the characteristics (dropped Rs, pronouncing "about" almost like "a boat")

And for something completely different, Tangier Island, VA. Fascinating and unique, although you can hear a similar accent on Ocracoke Island in NC:

Kelly Pickler's accent is a classic example of an annoying southern accent.

People make fun of Kellie Pickler because she's a dumb blonde. Her accent is very cute though. If she talked like Rosie, it wouldn't be attractive.

Well even with the South's many dumb, annoying, and trashy people. The poll indicates that people still prefer our accent...

Yeah right, Rosie is the epitome of the annoying NY'er and is mocked everywhere in the country. There is a country outside of NYC you know

lol nope, everyone I met where I've traveled liked my accent How would you know, if you don't have the accent and don't get comments on it? If I had a penny for each time I've heard someone say they wish they had my accent, I'd be pretty rich. And also, I don't take CD polls that seriously.
