Im well aware, but saying TMC is will be larger than DT Boston is stupid because Boston Medical space alone is larger than TMC.

are you talking about BMC? if so then you are mistaken. TMC is much much bigger than BMC.

ANd TMC may very well have more office space than Boston. It has 30 plus million square feet of space

TMC needs to add 25,000,000 sq feet to surpass DT Boston, and most of Boston's (city proper) Medical space is not in BMC.

BMC doesn't even look 1/4 the size of TMC (IMO)

again the bulk of the medical space in Houston is outside TMC. TMC doesn't have even half the medical space in Houston. Why are you comparing a research center to all the medical space in Boston. isn't that kinda silly??

The broader Boston area to me still has more medical research facilities than does Houston including the TMC. Houston is growing but honestly is still behind some other cities on this metric. Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham are loaded with research facilities. Now this topic is on skyline, from that perspective the TMC is likelt the most impressive skyline in this regard, in terms of pure space and medical research there are still a few cities which have more when compared to Houston. Much of the research facilities in the Cambridge area are between 2 and 8 stories, not impressive by height but extremely impressive but volume and work being conducting in the area.

He may have been referring to Longwood Medical Area, which would be more comparatively sized at about 22.5 million sq feet (source (http://www.masco.org/system/files/downloads/thelma/LMAfactsheet.pdf - broken link)) as of 2011...though it's obviously a bit smaller than TMC. Several of Boston's major hospitals like Brigham & Women's, Dana Farber, and Children's Hospital Boston are located in Longwood, but it doesn't include the titanic Mass General or Boston Medical Center.

Na, Boston's CBD is far larger than TMC. According to TMC's website, it has 31 million+ square feet.

Boston's CBD alone has 64,407,329 sq feet (source), roughly the size of the TMC and Houston's CBD combined (source)

31,000,000 (TMC) + 36,214,946 (Hou CBD) = 67,214,946

Not too shabby.

Nice stats, it seems on this board that many of the Houston folks dont realize that the TMC is not truly unique, while the largest single location many places/cities have had and continue to add huge space and resources to this medical research game. That does not diminish the great work and complex that exisits but even with it Houston may not of yet punched into the top 5 cities in this arena while Boston is among the very top in this regard.

And Yes HTown I most certainly realize that Houston has more than the TMC and it is factored in

You realize downtown Houston is only about 1-1/2 miles across in any direction, right?
