Don't be offended when they slight your favorites, or be surpsied when the results change from year to year. It's not a scientific survey meant to be a cross-section, it's just asking a bunch of random people for their thoughts about places they may or may not have visited! (Kinda like many threads on C-D )

Explain please, since you're such the expert.
Otherwise... keep your uninformed, inflammatory comments to yourself instead of ruining the thread.

Lets keep the Texas bashing out of this thread, please. Those are getting very tired on here.

But NYC and LA have better college nightlife. Better adult nightlife. Better nightlife in each and every category imaginable.

This list makes no sense. How many people have even been to Austin? Austin barely gets any visitors so who are all these people that voted it as#2??? That's impossible.

Probably rigged... Or maybe an online poll which is never accurate.

I have to say, this list is rubbish. How does Providence nightlife beat Boston's. People from Providence COME TO Boston for nightlife.

Well my guess would be that most people visited Austin for SXSW, ACL, or some other music, film or media festival. Visiting Austin during SXSW and saying it has a better night life then NYC or LA would be like visiting New Orleans during Mardigra and coming up with the same conclusion. But still, I can testify that Austin has great nightlife especially if your fan of live music. I also don't think you can compare it to NYC or LA because it's a very different atmosphere.

Well then it won't be ANY fun...

I agree, of course. There is simply no need to bash any city in an attempt to feel better about your own.

^Yeah, that actually says a lot about where you live.

Okay, I can't tell if that is directed toward me or someone else...

Could someone explain what this means, because I've read it a number of times on this forum. I assume the "year round" designation must mean something, b/c I know a number of cities maintain active--and lauded--companies for all three of those art forms. Does it mean that those companies don't have "seasons" but rather offer performances during all times of the year?
