Why do I get the feeling that some of the posters are giving opinions on cities (skylines) they have not been to?

I've never been to Iowa, but thanks to this new thing called "Google" I can look at pictures of skylines I've never seen in person.

Google

You should try it, it is incredible the things you can look at.

I don't really think I was fighting, but I guess I'll justify my reasoning to you. Indy has the tallest skyscraper in the Midwest outside of Chicago and Cleveland. It also has a larger mass of taller buildings than Des Moines does. If you actually visit both cities, Indianapolis simply looks bigger and better than Des Moines as does Columbus and Milwaukee.

I am sorry but i been to both cities and the skylines both look similar, maybe its the building that look the same anyway i can assure you that overall Indy has a way better downtown so much fun stuff to do downtown anyway still...actually researching right now Indy does not have the tallest building after Chicago, Cleveland does.

That's why if you read my quote you'd see that it says outside of Chicago and Cleveland....

I'm pretty sure the IDS Center is taller too. I see where it says that the Chase tower is the tallest outside of Chicago and Cleveland, but that lists its antenna spire height which is 830 ft where the IDS antenna spire height is 910 ft. Also, the roof of the IDS is 792 ft vs 700 ft for the chase tower. Having said that, I would definitely agree the Indianapolis skyline is a step up from Des Moines. It also has 4X the metro population though.

Sure, I'll buy that. I think Indianapolis vs. Des Moines depends on personal preference. If you like height, you'll probably like Indianapolis, but if you like mass and cohesion, you might prefer Des Moines. I think that's fair enough. For me, they're basically equals, and also both pretty underrated.

Colorado isn't in the Midwest, and neither is Pittsburgh.
No Indianapolis in there? Even though it's twice the size of 4 of those cities?

Although Rochester is pretty small, if beats the skylines of metros three times it's size.
