Some people just have to rep their city/region no matter what the thread title is. You could make a thread asking "What's the best tropical paradise?" and I bet someone would still say NYC.

NYC is going to be mentioned in nearly every thread, even if the thread is something like 'Which city is better San Francisco or Seattle', there's always going to be those same people that will answer by saying NYC, even though it's irrelevant to the topic..
