Pay attention to whats going on and no honking will be needed. New York is no different.
DC is the same way. Just walk around in downtown DC, Dupont Circle, Long Circle, Georgetown on a daily basis and you see this.

I am not surprised Miami won this poll because like AJ4VS said "downtown miami is very similar to NYC at times" very true lol.

Generally level of tolerance to rudeness in New York is much lower than in Chicago that's why New Yorkers come off rude when they simply bring someone dow to earth while Chicagoans would rather suffer than react.
On the other hand when Chicagoans finally react their response is much more abrupt and aggressive than in New York.

Boston. If you hesitate for even a nanosecond, drivers will lay on their horns.

People honestly don't honk all that much in Manhattan. You can get fined for it, so maybe that's why it keeps it down. Then again, go to the corner of Astoria blvd/Triboro bridge in Queens, and every 10 seconds you'll hear someone honk.

I went to New York City for the 2nd time about a month and a half ago and I don't understand how some of you say people don't honk that much there. There is a lot of honking in Manhattan, especially around Midtown.

Anyway, would some of you say Boston drivers honk more than NYC drivers, or would you say NYC drivers honk the most compared to other US cities? Do DC drivers honk a lot too?

Also, do drivers in the suburbs of the honk-happy cities mentioned honk a lot too?
