I don't even live in the south but there have several maps posted on C-D showing obesity rates all over the country.

Most of the country falls in the 25-28% range. If the southern states fell in the 40-60% range, then it would be much higher.

For someone who is so sensitive about New York being portrayed badly, you make comments bashing the south all of the time.

Yes. I bet there is a direct correlation between an area's concentration of fast food and the over all obesity of the area. Simply put. Fatty foods make fat people.

Pretty much, the more liberal a city is the thinner it is. Mainly because people are more conscious of their health and their environment. I work in DC and rarely see many fat people except TOURISTS or in the deep ghetto. I find it amazing that people in DC are thin, but yet dont try to "look beautiful" as say... NYC or LA, because they are pale white and always wearing black or white. (Most of them, not all of them).

People in NYC drink drink drink....and DRINK till 6am at the bars. They remain thin because they walk so much everyday. Way more than the average American. DC walks VERY slowly on the streets and crosswalks (I get pissed at them alot when i'm driving downtown) and I truly believe that if the bars in DC closed at 6am rather than 1:30am (city law) then people wouldn't be on the the thinnest in America because they walk so dang slow. AND because of reduced calorie intake compared to NYC folks.

Just my useless two-cents.
