Both are great cities, but I definitely prefer Boston. The history is amazing.

My vote goes to San Francisco. No other city in America blends a dense urban environment with beautiful scenic landscape. It’s iconic structures and points of interest have a stronger global brand as well.

It’s still one more than Boston has. Even the Cable Cars and Alcatraz are more known than anything in Boston on an international scale. Both are U.S. historical landmarks.

Not to be a contrarian, but I think Harvard's campus is better known and more recognizable than Alcatraz on an international scale. It's not a landmark, but it should definitely be included in this conversation. What should also be included is the freedom trail, the USS constitution, Fenway Park, and the Boston Common/Public Gardens (first public park in the US).

Two of America's greatest cities.

Alcatraz? The Golden Gate Bridge absolutely. But Alcatraz? That's a very big stretch.
