At one point, Pittsburgh International Airport was rated the best in the U.S., and third-best in the world, by Conde Nast Traveler. Then US Airways de-hubbed. Last I've heard, PIT is still at or near the top of customer satisfaction rankings among major U.S. airports.
I am not sure it is a major airport anymore, the shame is it really is a great airport, wide concourses, easy to navigate, and everything central to mall/restaraunt in the middle. Really a great design. Shame that US air basically abandoned this place - last time through it was a ghost town and US Air is using the large gates (that are actually being used, i think right now only like 30% of gates are being used) for turbo props. But honestly it may have been the best in terms of larger airports that I have experienced.
