This sounds like it was written by a sour-grapes teenage fan disappointed that his once-hero has moved on. To know this petty tirade is from a team owner is embarrassing -- especially from one who couldn't get his sh*t together enough to build a winning team around one of the best players in history. And now he's acting all butthurt that the guy who gave them seven years and the best opportunity they've ever had to win a championship finally gave up waiting for management to build a contending team. Grow up you little tit. This is a business, and one that is supposed to be conducted by adults.

The letter is very un-professional for an NBA owner.

But he is right on every point.

LaBron hurt Dan Gilbert bad tonight; for him to do an hour show on ESPN to tell where he wants to play stuck the knife in Gilbert. Dan Gilbert went overboard this past season to build a team around James. The players he brought in to support him, and the promotions around Cleveland. Dan Gilbert is probably glad to be rid of LaBron's huge ego.

At least he didn't sign with Chicago. For him to join Carlos Boozer after what he did to Cleveland a few years ago, that pain would be most unbearable and humiliating.

Lebron said in the interview tonight that he did not talk to Dan Gilbert since the Cavs team meeting...which may have been the main reason reason for this letter...completely shunning your owner and having him learn of your future via national TV is not a graceful way to leave.

And of course, Dan Gilbert is losing hundreds of millions because of this...(planned casino, team revenue, team value)

I can see why he wouldn't want to talk to such a childish git.

I like the letter, and think it was a timely posting by Gilbert.

It will be interesting to see what follow up actions Gilbert takes to fill the void. He isn't one to sit around and feel sorry for himself.

Good for Gilbert!

The only childish actions that transpired over the last few weeks was this sick, calculated, self-hyped, BS pageant that people had to watch unfold. Gilbert's reaction is well appropriate. LeQueen just f'd with the wrong billionaire.

Gilbert is a smart guy, and will work hard to make the team competitive. I think it was a great message to send out to the city and the fans.

I like the letter as well, and I think it's rather disingenuous to focus on Gilbert's (somewhat) childish words, implicitly excusing James's (extremely) childish actions.

Gilbert's still got a team to run, too, and if he has to flirt with the bounds of decorum to rile up his clientele and sell some tickets, well...I don't think it ranks among the top 50 most classless things people have done during this whole spectacle.

This letter is one he has been itching to write since Game 5. It doesn't rank even close to being in the top 1000 classless things that have transpired over the past few weeks.
