After the feel good upset against #7 Vanderbilt, Cleveland State University has once again received national praise. The only problem is, the local media and much of Cleveland doesn't seem to ever follow the team.

I personally blame the local media 100% for most of this. (Ex: the Vandy-CSU preview was on page 8 of the Sports section that day).

So now with no NBA, Cleveland's only alternate option is seemingly to support a successful Division I basketball program, who also has a downtown arena-- the Wolstein Center. Can you imagine the energy of that place packed??

Does anyone foresee a spike in attendance and support of CSU this year?

NOVEMBER HOME GAMES:

Nov 25 @ 2:30 PM vs Boston University
Nov 26 @ 2:30 PM vs Hofstra

I'd recommend going. I've gone to CSU games and am a huge Norris Cole (good luck in the NBA!) and CSU fan. They're the runner up to Butler almost every year and may finish tops in the Horizon league this season!

If they keep on knocking off high ranked teams like #7 Vanderbilt, those tickets should sell themselves.

Well, it's happened again with the Plain Dealer. Anyone one else notice the sports page today??

COVER: Ohio State and Kent State with full color pictures. Plus an Ohio State analysis from Bill Livingston.
PAGE D-5: Cleveland State victory recap with no pictures.

I understand both KSU and OSU won big games yesterday, but the PD's lack of coverage for a team that plays 10 blocks away is appalling.

College basketball > NBA in just about every way.

And this state is packed with some great college basketball.

The best uses for the PD are:

  • Starting fireplace kindling
  • Wrapping old fish

Northeast Ohio NCAA basketball is as good as it's been in a long time. CSU, Akron, and Kent State have pulled off early upsets. The crazy thing is, all three of them looked like the better team during their "upset" victories.

Best part is, all three team will play eachother this season. Go zips!

Don't forget toilet paper.

The Akron Leaking Urinal's alternative uses are somewhat self explanatory.

I sure hope CSU starts getting more support, with or without the Cavs playing. Great group of kids playing with a classy coach. They've been exciting to watch since Gary Waters has taken over.
