Games against the Tigers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc. are more expensive too. Prime games. I doubt the Angels would be considered such a hot ticket though. They are kinda horrible.

Agree. Pisses me off. Prices should be the same for every single game period. Cavs tickets are always the same price. Browns games are always the same price. In fact, I've never heard of a sliding scale for tickets before.

Thank you for your interest in Cleveland Indians Baseball. Without knowing directly what information your friend was seeing, I can describe to you on a basic level our ticket pricing structure. Our games are priced dynamically, meaning that depending on the day of the week (the game and date purchased), opponent and promotional schedule, our prices will vary. Tickets to Cleveland Indians games at Progressive Field range from $12-$100+. You can quickly view pricing for various games by visiting 2013 Indians Ticket Pricing | indians.com: Tickets. The sooner you purchase tickets in relation to the game for which you are seeking, the cheaper the price you will obtain. Additionally, we offer a discount on the face value of tickets if you choose to purchase them online at The Official Site of The Cleveland Indians | indians.com: Homepage and select a "paperless" ticket delivery - credit card entry or print from home.

They basically blew you off. The information I was seeing was on the ticket that said $82 and $82 above the ticket office window! The Reds also have dynamic ticket pricing, but it is not nearly as bad and they certainly would not raise the prices that much on a mediocre team like the Angels. For example, you can get tickets two rows behind the dugout for tonight's game for $82 or you can sit in the same area where we sat for the Indians game for $43.

I got similarly hosed last weekend in DC at a Nats game (because they knew that there were a bunch of people coming down from Philadephia for the game - we're not from Philly, we just love baseball). "Dynamic pricing" is borderline criminal for a lot of spontaneous walk up situations. The key is to plan ahead.

Also, thanks to all for the info. We travel to CLE 2x/yr to visit the in-laws, and we are definitely ready to get out and about a little more while we're there (especially considering they live near Medina which is beautiful but gets old really quick).

I know there is the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. About how long does it take to go through everything?

We would also be going to and Indians game, so there is half a day taken up.

Other than that, what else is there to do? It doesn't have to be in the downtown area, as long as it's not too far away.

Also is there anything worth checking out on the way up?
If you are commuting from Cincinnati, you should definitely stop in Columbus and check out the zoo there on your way to Cleveland if you haven't been there already. Take an extra day if you have to. Having lived in all 3 of Ohio's big cities, it's shocking how many Clevelander's only live 2 hours from the Columbus zoo, and have never been there. Same goes for residents of Cincinnati that have never been to that zoo. I consider it one of Ohio's greatest places to go in the summer, right up there with Cedar Point and Kings Island.

Meh. Just a zoo. Cedar Point is a much better time.

If someone doesn't like roller coasters, Cedar Point isn't even a consideration. I forgot to mention Put-n-Bay, which trumps all. Anyone who lives an hour away from put-n-bay and hasn't been there needs to go.
