My husband, baby, and I are likely moving to the Cleveland area in the next year and are trying to figure out where to live & worship. I grew up in Euclid, but have been away from the area for a long time and need some help in figuring out where would be the best Catholic church for us / best place to live.

For housing, we're looking in the sub-$250K range. 4 BR / 2000SQ+. Old home. Big front porch. Walkable and safe and good "neighborhood" feel.

We are most concerned about finding an active and vibrant Catholic parish that we can become a part of. We are in our early 30's and have loved being involved with our parish in Northern Virginia, an awesome parish that has Eucharistic Adoration, Bible Study/Women's group, Daily Mass, and frequent Reconciliation times. We would love to find a church that also has a school for our baby and hopefully other future children. We are more on the orthodox / traditional side of Catholicism rather than the liberal / progressive side, so would ideally find a church that's similar, most importantly, one that's faithful to the Magisterium.

We will likely end up on the West Side, so are especially interested in churches in that area.

Thanks for your help & God Bless!

One thing Cleveland has in spades is a vibrant church scene. You will have ZERO problem finding a decent parish, You may have a hard time deciding on one because there are a lot of choices. There really are a lot. ON the westside of Cleveland the first two that pop in my head are:

My wife and I attend mass at St. Ignatius of Antioch quite often. It's on Lorain Ave. and West Blvd in Cleveland. We really like the priest and the fact that it has a school, which we could see our future children attending someday.

Gesu/University Heights I believe fits most of what you're looking for.

St. James in Lakewood was really welcoming. You will find a lot of larger, older homes with large porches in Lakewood. Also you will find a lot of neighbors coming up and talking with you on your porch, which is one of the reasons I liked the place.

And the place is walkable.

Default Thanks for the suggestions!

We are in the beginning stages of the house search and really appreciate all these suggestions!

Any parishioners at any of these parishes on here? Would love to chat with you more in depth about the feel of your parish, especially any Lakewood / Rocky River folks.

Thanks!!
