Yeah some of it was ignorant... although I wouldn't say it's among the most ignorant of the posts on this forum.

IMO most of TonyM's post seems pretty close to true (I don't agree with the whole Bball issue, but who knows).

To each their own.

First why would I call you ignorant, then agree with what you said?

Second do you have any sources for your very ignorant comment, specifically the part about the sports, to back up your statements or are they all just opinion?

Third, there are people from those cities and all over the area and country that come there, some come to work hard and excel in school, som ecome to do nothing and be lazy, but your comment was an over generalization of people moving to Solon. You just need to think about what you say and how you say it before you say it.

I'm just saying don't over generalize. Sure there are people moving there that aren't acting the way they should or come just for sports, but there are others that do what they are supposed to and help Solon with its good repuation. Don't let some bad experiences become your opinion on every body that's moving to Solon and doesn't look like you.

When you open a checking account with US Bank, I think the account agreement contains an arbitration clause !!! on the last page.

Watch out for the arbitration clauses in whatever agreement you sign folks. I understand that some builders use these arbitration clauses for new construction.

Some businesses use a statement wherein you waive your rights to a jury trail. I guess that these statements may be used in a lease or employment situation.

Read the fine print. Then read it again.

National City does have free checking and free internet banking and considering it is headquartered in Cleveland, it has among the highest ATM concentration (its between that and Key I would guess). So based on the factors stated, I would go with National City or Key. I am a National City customer and exclusively use online banking. Coming from Bank of America (which doesn't exist here) its online service isn't as good, but it still gets the job done just fine.

National City drops fees for using other banks' ATMs
Posted by Teresa Dixon Murray March 01, 2007 14:48PM
Categories: Breaking News
In a bold move, National City -- Cleveland's largest bank -- said it will drop its foreign-ATM fees for most checking account customers and will also start offering check printing at no charge.

Starting Monday, National City will drop the $1.50-per-withdrawal fee for customers who have direct deposit, use online bill payment or schedule automatic payments for items such as mortgages or car loans.

In addition, customers who have "elite" checking accounts with monthly deposits of $5,000 or more but no minimum balance will get $1.50 refunds for foreign-ATM fees charged by other banks.

The Cleveland-based bank is hoping the new strategy will help retain existing customers and attract new ones, said David Bowen, executive senior vice president for consumer and small-business deposits.

While most customers have only one or two foreign ATM, surveys said people get ticked by such nickel-and-dime fees, Bowen said.

It'll be interesting to watch whether National City's initiative catches on at other banks in the hyper-competitive industry. In the 1990s, most banks charged monthly fees for checking accounts, charged for online bill payment and didn't have any kind of rewards program. All are commonplace now.
