Love the suggestions, its hard to choose since everyone likes different places. Would you suggest Morehead City over Beaufort? Im hoping that since it isn't a college town there will be other ways to meet people than the bars

There is no significant difference between Morehead and Beaufort, wherever you can find a job and affordale housing in Eastern Craven, Carteret, and Eastern Onslow will be find. The largest employer in the area is the DOD/Gov't contractors that operate in Havelock and Jacksonville servicing the Marine Corps bases. Also, there are bars in MHC city that are hang out after work,"friends" type bars. Not just sleazy looking to hook up bars. IF you involve yourself in the area, in the community, in anything really, it's easy to meet people. Specially considering the size of the area. An effort has to be put forth though. It may not happen if you're a "work-home-work" type unless you get in with the people you work with, that is. My wife is actually that type and that's how she met her new friends since we've been married.

Yeah I plan on getting out and meeting people as much as I can, Me and my dog are the ones moving and we like to get out and about as much as we can. I have also been looking into New Bern some, although I hear it has NO nightlife at all, it still sounds like a pretty cool place.

In New Bern you are less than an hour from Greenville which has your standard college night life. There a re culture, activities, and ways to meet people there as well. There is no "public" night life in New Bern to speak of, but most entertaining is done in the home. So once you find a group of friends you will have things to do. I only listed Eastern Craven due to proximity to beach, but there is no real difference in the area and everything is within commutable difference from each other within the two counties. Back in the day there was even a daily train that ran from New Bern to MHC. Living in New Bern or MHC or anywhere in between will not put you off from what the other town has to offer.

First concentrate on employment in the area. What field do you work or want work in? The concentrate on housing in the area with a reasonable work commute and access to the things you want.
